Mind’s Eye by Orly

I got Mind’s Eye by Orly quite a while ago, and was never really impressed with the color.  It is a deep burgundy (red-brown toned) creme polish.  I decided to wear it and see how I liked it, and I got so many compliments at work.  I was surprised at how many people just LOVE this color!  I’m still not loving it, but I’ll keep it as it’s a nice safe shade that will work well in the fall.

Rimmel London – Mini Haul

On my most recent trip to Target, I decided to try out a couple of the Rimmel London nail polish offerings.

The first one was Insolence from the Lycra Wear 10+ Minerals line.  This is the shade that caught my eye and drew me to the display in the first place.  It is a beautiful light cream color; it has a shimmery, glittering (but not glitter or pearl), almost-foil finish; it is semi-sheer, but acceptably opaque after 3 coats.  The brush on this is awesome with perfect application; it is similar to the O.P.I. Pro-Wide brush, but shorter and firmer.  Also, dried in a flash even though it isn’t a “fast-drying” formula.

The next one is Hard Edged from the 60 Seconds line.  This is an amazing duo-chrome type polish; it appears to me a charcoal black base with a very strong plum flash, and flashes of bronze and olive green depending on the light.  The formula applied smoothly and dried very fast.

Lubu Heels by China Glaze

Here’s one that is new to me but not the rest of the world.  It’s Lubu Heels by China Glaze; deep black polish with ruby red glitter throughout.  Although it is beautiful in the bottle, it doesn’t translate well to wearing on my fingertips.  It seems to lose it’s shine, and just appears black in most lighting.  I just wasn’t impressed.  I have on three coats in this picture, no topcoat.

Black Cat-Cha Later by Nicole by O.P.I.

While shopping at Target the other day, I stopped by to see if there were any new colors at the nail polish display.  Black Cat-Cha Later by Nicole by O.P.I. really caught my eye.  It is a beautiful dark brown with the most beautiful burgundy red shimmer.  Needless to say, it found its way into my shopping cart.

This is a first for me using the Nicole brand of nail polish.  I’ve read reviews of ths brand that have not been positive, but I decided to give it a try anyway.  I was impressed with the color saturation, and drying time.  On the second coat, I did encounter a slight bubbling of the polish on a couple of my nails.  Other that that, everything went very smoothly.

Here are some photos; I’ve got on 2 coats of Black Cat-Cha Later, no top coat (before clean-up so please excuse the cuticles.)  First picture is without flash, second is with flash.  Enjoy!
