Gorgeous by Sinful Colors

Hello!  I purchased Gorgeous by Sinful Colors about a month ago, and just wore it today.  In the bottle, it looked like a duochrome, but not so much on the nail.  It’s a gorgeous blue-green shimmer; it does change from blue-green to green-blue depending on the light, but no major duochrome color change.  It applied well and was opaque in 2 coats.

Venus di Violet by O.P.I.

When Venus di Violet by O.P.I. was released with the Colorcopia Collection I decided I just had to have it.  The color is so unusual and very unique.  It is a semi-sheer polish in very light milky pink, and when the light hits it there is this very faint violet-blue flash.  I have on 3 coats with no top coat.

New York Color – Mini Haul

After spotting an insane glitter polish on the tips of one of my girlfriends, I decided to go out and get my very own bottle.  So off to Target I went, and discovered that New York Color nail polish cost only .94 cents a bottle!  Needless to say, I picked up more than just the one polish.

Starry Silver Glitter is a clear polish, with two types of glitter: small rainbow-holographic glitter, and big light pink and bright blue hexagonal glitter.  Purple Pizzazz is a dark purple polish with a violet-blue flash.

Polyester Pink is a cool pastel pink creme, very pretty and sweet.  Love Letters is a very sheer milky pink creme that reminded me of O.P.I. Bubble Bath.

I also bought a couple polishes from N.Y.C.’s quick-dry line, “In a New York Color Minute.”  Penn Station is a shimmery cool berry-red shade, very flattering and classy.  East Village is a shimmery teal shade; this one is so sheer it took 4 coats to be opaque.

I just love N.Y.C.’s  color selection, with trendy shades and funky glitters!  I feel that some of these could use some formula improvement; namely streaking and sheerness.  However, at .94 cents, who can complain?  The price can’t be beat!

Amethyst Mist by Cover Girl

Hello Glitter!  I LOVE the mixed-size glitter as seen in N.Y.C. Starry Silver glitter; so when I saw Amethyst Mist by Cover Girl, I snatched up the very last bottle!  The polish has a very cool toned feel to it, even though it packs in so many different colors.  The base is clear with the slightest hint of purple, and it has tons of small and large holographic glitters suspended in it.  The small glitter seem to stay between blue and green tones; while the large glitters range between pink, blue, green, gold and purple.  This is a great understated glitter polish that would be great for layering!

Insolence by Rimmel

I purchased Insolence by Rimmel London a week ago, and have worn it twice.  It is so beautiful!  It is an off-white, cream color shimmer; I think it’s a foil finish, but not sure.  I can’t stop staring at my nails when this is on!  This is semi-sheer; I have four coats on to make it more opaque but it still shows a visible nail line.  Sadly, it doesn’t last more than 2 days without chipping.

Nail Tek III – Treatment Review

On my continued quest to improve my nail health, I decided to look into the Nail Tek line of products.  I found the display at my local CVS and read over the available formulas: Nail Tek I is for healthy nails, nope; Nail Tek II is for soft, peeling nails; and Nail Tek III is for dry, brittle nails.  My nails are paper-thin, brittle, and bendable; making manicures chip within 2 days, and tips and corners snap off.  The top layers of my nails peel off in large sheets leaving visible dents.  I can’t go a week without having to chop my nails down to match the broken or peeling nail.

Figuring I need as much help as I can get, I chose Nail Tek III “Protection Plus.”  The instructions are simple: use Nail Tek as you would your normal base and top coat; follow with a coat of Nail Tek daily.

The Nail Tek formula is smooth and glides right onto the nail without running into the cuticles.  It dries in minutes, and doesn’t cause any bubbling; even when I put it over slightly wet nail polish, because I’m impatient.  The formula works great as a base, it really grips the color, and as a top coat with great shine.  After just two weeks of using Nail Tek III, I have noticed a significant improvement in my nails.  I have actually had to file my nails down to keep them from getting too long.  They no longer peel, they bend and break less, and feel stronger.  I have only had one corner break off my left middle finger, and that was my own fault in the kitchen.  I’m just blown away at how well this product works, and how quickly!

With these results, I would say Nail Tek III is my new Holy Grail product!  Never in my life have my nails been in such great condition.  When this bottle runs out, I think I’ll try the Nail Tek Foundation III to see how it compares.  All in all, I would highly recommend this product to anyone out there having trouble growing their nails, or nail breakage, and peeling!
